What type of care do you provide?

Haven of Birth and Wellness is a midwifery service that provides complete obstetrical care through the antepartum and into the postpartum period. We review your health, social, family, and obstetrical history when you come into care and during pregnancy we are constantly assessing you and your baby's health. We provide all of the standard labs and testing performed at an OB's office, including labs, ultrasounds, physical assessments, prenatal, and postpartum care. We also offer homebirth for clients that are low risk, multiple postpartum visits are included in care, and offer encapsulation services.

What makes midwifery care with you different?

At Haven of Birth and Wellness care is more holistic in that we look at you as a whole person. We take into account the multiple aspects of your life, health, mind, and body. We focus on preventive care and education rather than reactive care, focusing on full-body wellness. Providing education is vital to empowering you as the client to be the key decision maker for you and your baby's health. Our care offers hour long appointments with your provider. We discuss any concerns, review any new medical information, provide education, and assess you and baby each visit. This model of care is the safest and most effective model for low risk women and healthy pregnancies.

How do I know if I am a good candidate for a homebirth?

During our consultation we discusses any know medical diagnosis or issues, current medications, and previous pregnancies and births. During pregnancy we continuously monitor you and the baby's health to ensure homebirth is a safe option.

What if I want to have a hospital birth?

We support families in making the decisions they feel is best for their families or circumstances. Knowledge is powerful and having support is key in facilitating a positive birth experience. We encourage families to think about the birth experience they desire and how to set up their environment to support that. Homebirth is not an option for everyone whether that be in requiring higher medical care that only a hospital setting can provide, residential challenges, personal preferences, etc. Doulas are an invaluable support to have in all birth settings. While we do not deliver in the hospital, we still offer prenatal and comprehensive postpartum care for those planning hospital births.

Do you accept VBAC clients?

Yes, we do accept VBAC clients. During your consultation we will review your specific medical and surgical history and discuss care options.

What insurance do you accept?

We are not under contract with any insurance companies at this time. We do participate in healthcare programs. Clients with insurance have the option to connect with True Healthcare Billing, where she verifies your benefits and can submit for reimbursement. This would still require the full package fee to be paid to Haven of Birth and Wellness by the client and the reimbursement is sent directly to the client by the insurance company.
