Rachel is a Florida native with experience of providing patient centered care in several different models of care. Her health care experience extends from working as a lactation consultant, birth doula, to an EMT, and now a licensed midwife.  More than anything, it’s her personal experience bringing her two children earth side that has instilled the vision and mission for Haven of Birth and Wellness. When pregnant with her first baby, she found herself with a provider who didn’t respect or care for her health with respect or empathy. After being denied a new provider late in pregnancy and experiencing a difficult delivery, she knew there had to be something better for women. Shortly after the birth of her daughter she became a doula to support women during their pregnancies and advocate for patient rights. When Rachel became pregnant with her second child, she empowered herself with education, a better birth team, and a dream to do things differently. She had her home birth and experienced the power of feeling safe when she had a team that truly cared and believed in her ability to birth.

Rachel’s personal experiences as well as working within multiple practices has given her a distinct insight as a midwife and she is using it to provide a haven within her practice. She believes in a woman's power to birth, the power of education, and the importance of a mother being empowered to make the choices that are right for her and baby. 

Rachel lives in Central Florida with her beautiful blended family that includes her husband, children, and several fur babies. In her spare time she homeschools, bakes and cooks, renovates their home and dreams of homesteading soon.
